Sweater + Skirt Season

Sweater + Skirt Season - BloggerNotBillionaire

Knee High and Over the Knee boots are STILL the hottest things to own this season and I am fully on board with that. One of my favorite things about them is they allow you to wear above the knee skirts comfortably without fear of showing too much skin or needing to wear tights for warmth. This lays the perfect foundation for my favorite Fall outfit combination: the A-line skirt and the oversized sweater.

DSC_0242Playing with proportions with your outfit is always tons of fun but it also becomes necessary when you have oversized pieces that when combined with the wrong elements can overwhelm an outfit. Today’s poncho is an oldie but a goodie with the poncho + turtleneck combination never seeing to go out of style. It is very oversized though so I try to always balance out the sweater with a slimmer silhouette on the bottom. That leaner bottom could be a skinny jean but where is the fun in that? Instead a shorter skirt with a fitted knee boot gives the leaner contrast showing yes, I do indeed have a figure and it makes the look far more interesting than a pair of jeans would.  The a-line skirt is also a very of-the-moment trend so this look feels very current for this season even though it is made up of traditional wardrobe staples.
