As the days get longer and social activities inevitably extend in the evening I find myself needing outfits that easily can take me from work, to happy hour and then to an evening activity with ease. Other considerations are that my office is freezing, at 4pm it is has been blisteringly hot lately and in the evening it cools down significantly, so I decided I needed not just a dress, but the most perfectly versatile dress I could find.
I have mentioned before that Australian Fashion labels are invading the US and the world and fashionistas everywhere are only too happy to embrace these labels as they perfectly fit an affordable style niche we are looking for. Today’s jersey stretch dress is from Fifth the Label, one of the aforementioned Australian brands that focuses on more simple, casual pieces that can form a solid wardrobe foundation. A mid-length sleeveless dress is the perfect transitional piece providing enough coverage for a work situation, yet the side slit provides enough sass that you will confident wearing it out on the town as well. The jersey fabrication makes this dress both comfortable and breathable which are a must when going for all day wear. Paired with a jacket and a statement shoe, you can wear it sleeveless or covered and easily manage the sunshine and the over air conditioned offices in your life. On the weekend I will throw a belt and a pair of casual sandals with this dress and have it transform into my go to grocery shopping-to brunch look. So if you don’t have a go-to easy breathable dress I highly recommend investing in one as it will make getting dressed in the summer infinitely easier and more comfortable.
