Embracing Fall Colors While They Are Still Here

dsc_0579

November is wrapping itself up, leaves are changing and winter is fast approaching. What a better time than now to embrace your favorite fall colors and start dressing head to toe in the color of the changing leaves? One of my favorite things to do each fall is to wear monochromatic or tonal looks that match the way Seattle looks in the Fall. It always feels so fresh and appropriate and with the lingering 70’s trends lending us warm mustard, rust colors and every shade of brown one can imagine it’s easy to create this kind of look out of what you currently have in your wardrobe.

You will notice also that the shapes and silhouettes are quite a throwback as well, the oversized trench combined with a simple turtleneck a statement necklace and a wide embroidered pant.  Looking back to the 70’s and the cultural movements of the time feels especially appropriate currently so dressing like you could instantly step into a 1970’s news conference should carry with it a sense of purpose and an empowerment that we all deserve to feel right now. So grab your rust tones, don your turtlenecks and let’s embrace Fall and the 70’s while the colors and November are still here.
